Yes, VideoToText is 100% free to use. There are no hidden costs, no premium tiers, and no limits on the number of videos you can transcribe. We're committed to keeping video transcription accessible to everyone.

Do I need to create an account?

No, you don't need to sign up or create an account. Just paste your video URL and start converting immediately.

What video platforms are supported?

VideoToText supports YouTube (including Shorts), Instagram (Reels, Videos, IGTV), and X/Twitter video tweets. We're always working on adding more platforms.

How accurate are the transcriptions?

We use OpenAI's Whisper large-v3 model, one of the most accurate speech recognition systems available. Accuracy depends on audio quality, background noise, speaker clarity, and accents. For clear audio, accuracy is typically 95%+.

What languages are supported?

VideoToText supports 50+ languages with automatic language detection. The AI identifies the spoken language automatically and transcribes accordingly. This includes English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and many more.

Can it transcribe multiple speakers?

Yes, the AI can transcribe conversations with multiple speakers. However, it doesn't currently label or separate speakers in the output.

What file formats can I download?

You can download transcriptions in three formats: TXT (plain text for documents), SRT (SubRip format for video editing software), and VTT (Web Video Text Tracks for web video players).

Can I use the transcription for subtitles?

Absolutely! Download the SRT or VTT format and import it directly into your video editing software or video hosting platform.

Do you store my videos or transcriptions?

No, we don't store your videos or transcriptions on our servers. Audio files are processed in memory and deleted immediately after transcription. Your transcription history is stored locally in your browser.

Is my data secure?

Yes, all connections are encrypted with HTTPS. We don't collect personal information, and video processing happens in isolated, temporary containers.

Why is my video not converting?

Common reasons include: private/restricted videos, age-restricted content, region-locked videos, or temporary platform issues. Make sure the video is publicly accessible.

Is there a maximum video length?

We support videos up to 100MB in size. For very long videos (2+ hours), processing may take a few minutes.
